Strategic Targets
Strategic targets are the keyword clusters your agency has identified as priority topics for a client. They form the backbone of the Content Calendar Engine's prioritization.
Setting up targets
Navigate to Content Calendar → Strategic Targets to manage keyword targets. You can:
- Add keywords manually with estimated priority
- Import keywords from Google Search Console (requires GSC OAuth connection)
- Bulk import from CSV
Keyword enrichment
Once keywords are added, Rankup enriches them with data from DataForSEO:
| Data point | Source | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Search volume | DataForSEO | Monthly search volume for the keyword |
| Keyword difficulty | DataForSEO | How hard it is to rank for this keyword (0-100) |
| Current position | Brave Search | Client's current SERP position for this keyword |
| Competitor positions | Brave Search | Where competitors rank for the same keyword |
Keyword clusters
Related keywords are automatically grouped into clusters. Clusters help identify opportunities where a single piece of content could target multiple related queries. Clustering uses DataForSEO's keyword grouping API combined with semantic analysis.
Priority levels
- P1 (Critical) - core topics, highest convergence boost in calendar synthesis
- P2 (High) - important topics, moderate convergence boost
- P3 (Medium) - supporting topics, standard weight
