What is Rankup?
Rankup is a content intelligence suite built for marketing agencies. It consists of three products - Location Pulse, Content Calendar Engine, and Brand Radar - that help agencies detect brand problems, build data-driven content strategies, and measure real-world impact.
Do I need all three products?
No. Each product works independently. You can start with one and add more as needed. However, the products are designed to work together in a feedback loop - using all three gives you the complete detect-plan-measure cycle.
Is Rankup only for US businesses?
No. Rankup supports locations in any country. The country field in location data is flexible. Some supplementary features (holiday data, census data) are currently US-only, but all core monitoring works globally.
Data & Privacy
Can my clients see each other's data?
Absolutely not. Client data isolation is enforced at the database level using PostgreSQL Row Level Security. Even if someone were to directly query the database, they could only see data they're authorized to access. Client Viewers are restricted to their own client's data only.
Can other agencies see my data?
No. Each agency is a completely separate organization (tenant) in the database. There is no way for one organization to access another's data.
Are my API keys secure?
Yes. API keys are encrypted at rest in the database and are never exposed in client-side code or API responses. They are only used server-side for data collection jobs.

How often is data refreshed?
Refresh frequency depends on your plan:
- Starter - weekly
- Professional - daily
- Enterprise - real-time
What AI platforms does Rankup monitor?
Currently: ChatGPT (via Cloro), Google AI Overviews (via Cloro), and Perplexity (via direct API). We plan to add more platforms as the AI landscape evolves.
What happens if an external API goes down?
Rankup handles API outages gracefully. If one provider is temporarily unavailable, all other features continue working normally. Failed data collection jobs are retried with exponential backoff and failures are logged for admin review.
How does cannibalization prevention work?
Before adding any item to the content calendar, Rankup compares it against existing published content (from GSC import or manual entry), other planned calendar items, and past content briefs. If overlapping target keywords are detected, the item is flagged with a warning and an alternative angle is suggested.
Billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features in your selected tier.
Can I change plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Do I need my own API keys?
Yes. Rankup requires you to provide your own API keys for external services (DataForSEO, Brave Search, etc.). This gives you full control over costs and usage, and means your data stays between you and the service providers.
