AI Perception Monitoring
AI Perception tracks how artificial intelligence platforms describe, recommend, and represent your client's brand and locations. As more consumers use AI assistants for recommendations, managing AI perception is critical.
Monitored platforms
Rankup currently monitors these AI platforms:
| Platform | Method | What's tracked |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Cloro API | How ChatGPT describes and recommends the brand |
| Google AI Overviews | Cloro API | AI-generated summaries in Google search results |
| Perplexity | Direct API | Citations, recommendations, and brand descriptions |
How it works
- Rankup generates brand-relevant queries (e.g., "best [industry] in [city]", "[brand name] reviews")
- Queries are sent to each AI platform on a regular schedule
- Responses are analyzed by Claude to extract sentiment, accuracy, and citation status
- Results are compared against previous scans to detect changes
What to look for
- Accuracy - is the AI providing correct information about hours, services, and offerings?
- Sentiment - is the AI framing the brand positively, neutrally, or negatively?
- Citation - is the AI citing the brand's own content, or competitor/third-party sources?
- Competitor comparison - when asked for recommendations, is the brand mentioned alongside or below competitors?
Required API keys
AI Perception monitoring requires:
- Cloro - for ChatGPT and Google AI Overview scanning
- Perplexity - for direct Perplexity API queries (saves Cloro credits)
- Anthropic - for response analysis via Claude
Configure these in Settings → API Keys.
